Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, July 14, 2015 – France maintained their unbeaten run in the FIVB World Grand Prix as they overcame Cameroon 3-0 (25-21, 25-22, 25-23) in a tight Group 3 match in Port of Spain on Friday.

Playing on Bastille Day, France became the first country to win their first four matches in the World Grand Prix. Both countries are playing in the competition for the first time. Cameroon, who lost 3-1 to France last week, dropped to 1-3.

Juliette Fidon (12 points), Odette Ndoye and Alexandra Dascalu (10 points each) led France, while the top scorer in the match was Cameroon’s Berthrade Bikatal with 17 points, including a team-high five blocking points. Cameroon had the edge in blocking (13-8) but committed 25 errors to France’s 18.

Cameroon fought hard and had their chances but lost their way at crucial moments, dropping three straight points at 18-18 in the second set and blowing a three-point lead late in the third set.
