Aguascaliente, Mexico, July 8, 2017 - Mexico’s Andrea Rangel says their second victory in a row was a team effort after defeating Trinidad & Tobago 3-1 (22-25, 25-17, 25-19, 25-10) in Aguascalientes.

Andrea Rangel, captain of Mexico: In the first set, we didn't have the necessary concentration and Trinidad & Tobago have a really high block; they have improved a lot. Our objective is to win all our matches as hosts and tonight’s team effort was the key in earning a second win in a row. Again the crowd’s support was very important and we hope to make them proud.

Ricardo Naranjo, Head Coach of Mexico: Aguascalientes' response was fantastic. It has been a long time since I have seen a full capacity supporting our national volleyball team. My team has made a lot of effort to play well and not disappoint as hosts. I hope we can finish tomorrow with another victory. The players showed courage while responding in difficult moments. Mexico needs to make the most from this experience because it is not that often that we get to play at this level.

Francisco Cruz, Head Coach of Trinidad & Tobago: They should have played the entire match like they did in the first set. In Set 2, we only scored on five attacks as Mexico dominated us with serves and the ball never reached our setter comfortably. The team started to commit errors which turned into our loss today. We were not able to recover.

Renele Forde, captain of Trinidad & Tobago: We definitely came out strong. We blocked more and attacked where it was needed and had less errors, but we could not close coming out of the second and third. In push out situations, we committed too many errors and in crucial points we lost control. We need to go back and train hard and limit our errors if we want to win tomorrow.
