Nana scores 17 as Cameroon earns 3-2 win over Trinidad & Tobago

 

Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, July 16, 2017 – Christelle Tchoudjang Nana scored 17 as Cameroon outlasted hosts Trinidad and Tobago 3-2 (25-18, 18-25, 25-17, 18-25, 15-10) to complete the FIVB World Grand Prix weekend in Port-of-Spain. 

It was Cameroon's second straight win of the weekend. The hosts, led by Delicia Pierre's 15 points, suffered their second straight loss.




The first set started close, but Cameroon pulled away late in the set to win it 25-18. They started quick in the second set, but Trinidad and Tobago then went on a 14-4 run to grab a 15-9 lead. They weren’t threatened again, winning the set 25-18. 

Cameroon stretched a lead late in the third to win that set 25-17, while the hosts leveled the match by winning the fourth set 25-18. Cameroon never trailed in the fifth, winning it 15-10.


Cameroon finished their first season in the World Grand Prix with a 3-3 record in Group 3, while Trinidad and Tobago finished at 1-5.
