Netherlands coach Jamie Morrison: I’m very proud of the girls

 

Netherlands won a thrilling match against the Dominican Republic

Yekaterinburg, Russia, July 15, 2017 – After dropping the first two sets, the Netherlands defeated the Dominican Republic 3-2 (23-25, 22-25, 25-22, 25-23, 15-8) on Saturday. 

Netherlands coach Jamie Morrison: “I’m very proud of the girls with staying in the game and pushing the Dominicans. They played a lot better than last week, they have some of the best athletes in the world. I feel really happy then we won after losing 18-10.” 

 
Netherlands player Anne Buijs: “It was obviously hard to win today. The team fought a lot, because Dominican Republic was really good in first and second sets, especially Elizabeth Martinez, she had really good spikes, but then we refocused and started to play better and won.” 


Dominican Republic coach Marcos Kwiek: “We played against a very good team, they looked for a victory. Tomorrow we have to keep improving in block and reception.” 

Dominican Republic player Dharlenis Marte Frica: “We are upset with the result, but we don’t give up, we will fight every game we have. We played against a strong team, we need to keep improving.”
