Orduna aiming to make home advantage count

Guillermo Orduna expects his team to keep growing.

Neuquen, Argentina, July 5, 2017 – Argentina stepped up their preparations for the start of the 2017 FIVB World Grand Prix with a joint training session against Croatia at the Ruca Che Arena, where they will meet later on in the week.

As well as Croatia, Guillermo Orduna’s team will take on Canada and Poland in the Group 2 encounter and it is the fourth season in a row that Argentina have played in front of their home crowds, following matches in Lomas de Zamora, Formosa and Tucuman in recent years.

“Playing in Argentina is very important for us, in fact it was vital in the cycle that took us to Rio (de Janeiro 2016 Olympic Games),” Orduna said.

“The team's identification with the people generated an important commitment that the players took very well, and culminated in Bariloche. The team always responds to home support and the bonds between the players are strengthened and their motivation grows.”
