Qian drives China to victory through tough five-setter against Russia

Kunshan, China, July 8, 2017 – China claimed their second victory at their home FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix 2017 tournament in Kunshan. With powerful Jingwen Qian as the team’s main engine, the Chinese persevered through a tough five-setter to hand Russia a 3-2 (24-26, 25-21, 16-25, 27-25, 16-14) defeat, twice coming back from a set behind. The Russians are still winless in the tournament, while for China this was the 12th win against this strong opponent in the 30 World Grand Prix games they have played so far.

Qian contributed 15 points to her squad’s success, while Russia’s Kseniia Parubets aced four times towards a total of 20 points, which made her the best scorer of the match.
