Australia's Rachel Rourke serves against Trinidad & Tobago.

Aguascalientes, Mexico, July 9, 2017 – Rachel Rourke put on a serving clinic for Australia, as they defeated Trinidad & Tobago 3-0 (25-20, 25-12, 25-23) to earn their first-ever win in the FIVB World Grand Prix.

Rourke recorded 11 aces among her 25 points, which made her the leading scorer of the match. Her tally was a large portion of Australia’s 15 overall aces for the match.

Trinidad and Tobago started fast in the first set, but Australia drew level at 11-11 and pulled away to get the set win. After a dominant second set, the Volleyroos started fast in the third set. However, Trinidad & Tobago fought back to take the lead at 15-13, but Australia was too strong in the end and won the set to sweep the match.

The two teams will meet again on Friday, as Trinidad and Tobago will be hosting Pool D3 of the FIVB World Grand Prix in Port-of-Spain next weekend.
