Kenya gear up for busy season

Kenya women's volleyball team

Nairobi, Kenya, January 19, 2017 – Kenya are poised for a good run in the 2017 season. Their schedule serves off in March with the 2017 Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) League.

The national league is set to begin on March 3 in Malaba, but without the Homa Bay leg, which will give way for the participation of the national and club teams in various international events.

The first international event for Kenyan players in the 2017 calendar is the African Club Championship, which will take place in April in Tunisia.

The women’s national team will be on the road again for the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix from July 7 to 30, to revive their 2015 success, when they won the Group 3 final against Peru in a four-set match.

Kenya will also host the African Nations Championship from August 4 to 16, then the FIVB Volleyball World Championship men’s and women’s qualifiers in September.

They will also compete in the FIVB Volleyball Women’s U23 World Championship in Slovenia from September 10 to 17.
