Venezuela repeated their straight-set win against Algeria in the 2017 FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix
Caracas, Venezuela, July 14, 2017 – Venezuela recorded another victory over Algeria in their second encounter in the 2017 FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix, following their 3-0 (28-26, 25-18, 25-18) win in Pool C3 at Domo Jose Maria Vargas on Friday.
Maria Jose Perez Gonzalez helped Venezuela with 16 points. Luz Maguy Delfines Melendez and Aleoscar Blanco Iriarte added 12 and 10 points, respectively. Algeria’s Yamine Abderrahim made nine points on a losing effort.
Venezuela first beat the African side in straight sets last week in Yaounde. The South Americans now have a 3-1 win-loss record, while Algeria remain winless in Group 3.
