We did not play well, especially I – Natalia Pereira

Brazil's captain Pereira in action against Turkey

Ankara, Turkey, July 9, 2017 – Brazil’s captain Natalia Pereira was not very pleased with her team’s and especially her own performance in their FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix 2017 3-2 victory over Turkey in Ankara. However, Turkey’s coach Giovanni Guidetti thinks both sides played well.

Natalia Pereira, captain of Brazil: "We knew it would be a tough game. Turkey played a very good game against Belgium yesterday. I think we did not play well, especially I. I know I need to play better. I think the most important thing is the victory. It is important that we won and took two points. We need to play better and work on our mistakes."

Giovanni Guidetti, coach of Turkey: "I want to thank Ankara! It is a real pleasure to play at this stadium. Brazil were incredible, with a lot of motivation and a lot of courage. It is a pity, because I think we had a chance to win, but at the end of the match Brazil were really strong. They did not make one mistake. Bravo, Brazil! But Turkey were also very good."
