San Juan, Puerto Rico, July 14, 2017 – Czech captain, Karolina Bednarova said she was pleased with Friday’s win over Bulgaria but still wants her team to correct the mistakes that made them struggle to win in the 3-2 victory.

Czech Republic Captain Karolina Bednarova: It was a very important victory because we knew the quality of Bulgarian team. We’ve faced them many times in the last years. I wouldn’t say it was a good game; there were a lot of mistakes on both sides. It was about serve and passing, that was the goal of our team today. We complemented each other; everybody on the court today did their best for the team victory today. I would correct the passing for the next matches and the sequence in attacks, and the blocking needs to get a little better as well.

Bulgaria Captain Dobriana Rabadzhieva: I’m proud of my girls because they kept playing even when it was a hard match for us because the Czech team pushed us and we couldn’t score after that. I want to congratulate them and the coach made good changes and they won. We had a lot of individual mistakes but we are still working on our game together.
