Everything went right for us - Lucia Fresco

Argentina celebrates the victory against Puerto Rico

Varazdin, Croatia, July 22, 2017 – Everything worked well on Argentina’s side during their FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix 2017 game against Puerto Rico, and the opponents’ coach credited them for the victorious outcome.

Guillermo Orduna, coach of Argentina: "Puerto Rico are a strong team. They play well indeed, when they attack, but today we played tactically better. Our serve was working for us today, which is very important, and our ball distribution in attack was very good."

Lucia Fresco, player of Argentina: "It was one of those games, where everything goes right. We entered the match with the right mentality. We played against Puerto Rico many times before and today everything we planned worked out for us. We came here after a lot of defeats and we had to prepare mentally for this tournament."

Javier Gaspar, coach of Puerto Rico: "The credit for our loss today goes to Argentina. They played a great match defensively. They knew how they wanted to attack us and they were effective. We were up 12-8 and after that we just collapsed, more mentally than physically. We have to work on our attitude for tomorrow's match."

Stephanie Enright, player of Puerto Rico: "I think that as a team we did not execute our game. We concentrated on other things that were in the game. I think we are going to have to practice harder when we get home to get better. If we start practicing in the morning and we start visualizing how we played the last five matches we can win against Croatia."
