Kakolewska and Smarzek keep Poland unbeaten

 

Ostrowiec Swietokrzyski, Poland, Jul 15, 2017 – Polish fans witnessed another great match by the home side, who won against Argentina in straight sets (25-10, 26-24, 25-15) on Saturday.


Agnieszka Kakolewska and Malwina Smarzek scored 14 points each for the home favourites, while Lucia Fresco put 17 points on the board for Argentina.


The home team opened with enormous power and motivation, which resulted in a 14-3 lead, mostly thanks to good performance of Joanna Wolosz by the net and Berenika Tomsia on serve. Smarzek gave Argentina two points for free, but her teammates ended the set at 25-10. The Albicelestes started set the second set with better defence and led 14-10. The support of the Polish helped in chasing the score and Tomsia’s brilliant plays gave Poland the desired 26-24. They did not stop their there and in the last set put a stamp on the victory, confidently defeating Emilce Sosa’s team 25-15.
