Korea out to defend perfect record against Argentina

 

Lausanne, Switzerland, July 13, 2017 - Korea will be looking at retaining a perfect head-to-head record against Argentina when the two meet Friday in Ostrowiec. The Asian side have beaten the South Americans 3-0 in every one of their six matches in FIVB competitions. They last met in pool play at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. It is the second time they clash in the history of the FIVB World Grand Prix after they played in 2011.

Head-to-Head
• Korea have won all six encounters with Argentina at world level. Each of those six victories were achieved in straight sets.
• They most recently met in the Pool phase of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
• They met once before at the World Grand Prix, in 2011.

Argentina
• Argentina suffered three defeats in their opening weekend, succumbing to Canada, Croatia and Poland.
• Argentina have lost seven of their last eight in the World Grand Prix, including each of their last three. Their only win in that run came against Kenya (3-0).
• Argentina have lost each of their last six five-setters in the World Grand Prix.

Korea
• Korea enjoyed victories against Germany and Kazakhstan in their opening weekend. They lost against Bulgaria.
• Korea have alternated wins and defeats in their last 11 matches at world level. Should this trend continue, they will lose this match.
• Korea have won three of their last four in the World Grand Prix.
