Nawrocki: "My players showed character"

Ostrowiec Swietokrzyski, Poland, Jul 15, 2017 Poland remain unbeaten in the 2017 FIVB World Grand Prix after defeating Argentina 3-0 (26-24; 27-25; 25-15) at home on Saturday.

Poland Captain Joanna Wolosz: "I am very happy after this match. We played consistently, except for this “horror” in the second set. We almost came back to our game which we presented last week, so I am very satisfied and it’s a good sign before tomorrow’s game."

Poland Coach Jacek Nawrocki: "It’s always difficult to play again against a team with which you have already played during the tournament, especially, when you won the first match in an easy way like here – in three sets. We knew that we have to start this match totally focused. In the first set we were better in service and attack. Argentina improved their game in the second set and I am happy that my players showed their character after a few unsuccessful balls and the last points were won by us. The end of the second set was the key to success in the last part of this match."

Argentina Captain Emilce Sosa
: "We played good, but it was not our best volleyball and it was not enough to win. We must play better tomorrow."

Argentina Coach Guillermo Orduna: "We played a really irregular match. During the first set Poland gave us a lot of pressure with their serve, during the second we played better in the reception and in the attack. That's why it was much more equal, but during the third we had troubles keeping our heads in the game. Poland did a really good job, and during this match the difference of the levels between our teams was really clear."
