Serbia lead World Grand Prix Group 1 after two weeks of play
Lausanne, Switzerland, July 17, 2017 - "It was another incredibly competitive week in the 2017 FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix," said FIVB President Dr. Ary S. Graça F° as the race for the finals continues to provide twists and turns.
"Across all three groups we saw hard fought competition as each nation battled for honours. It is so exciting to see the quality and competitiveness of each performance and I am already looking forward to next week."

Latest VideosFacebookTwitterInstagramMedia GuidesIn all, a total of 7962 points were scored across all three groups this weekend. Serbia suffered an early defeat to Brazil but recovered to win their next two games and stay top of the Group 1 rankings, with the Netherlands very close behind.
In Group 2, Korea’s victory over Poland made it level at the top of the ranking with both sides claiming five wins from the opening six matches. Kim Yeon Koung scored 26 points in total as Korea came from behind to beat the hosts 3-1.
Meanwhile, France made history with their second consecutive clean sweep, becoming the only team to win their first six matches in their competition debut. Hungary also remain unbeaten in Group 3, having dropped just one set so far this year.
Host cities this week were from the National Federations of Japan, Kazakhstan, Macau, Poland, Puerto Rico, Russia, Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela.
