Uribe: The support was awesome

Ostrowiec Swietokrzyski, Poland, Jul 16, 2017 - Peru celebrate their first victory of the FIVB World Grand Prix weekend in Poland, after defeating Argentina 3-1 (25-18; 18-25; 25-23; 25-19).

Peru Captain Mirtha Uribe: "It was really awesome that the hall gave us support. I think that their contribution is a really important factor in our sport. We felt almost like at home, and we liked playing here in Poland. Today we faced another tough opponent, but on a level closer to ours. We showed everything that we worked on in our traning. It was an important victory for us and whole volleyball in Peru."

Peru Coach Luizomar de Moura: "It is a very important win for our team. We worked really hard, so we deserved this victory. It means a lot for us, because we lost the most important points in matches against Poland and Korea and today we finally won."

Argentina Captain Emilce Sosa
: "It was a good match, we played better than yesterday, but it is still not enough for us, so now we have to work more and improve our game."

Argentina Coach Guillermo Orduna: "We didn’t play focused. We made many mistakes in the first set, the second part was better – we played well in side-out, block and defence. The most important thing for us is that young players can gain experience from these matches. We have to train more and work on concentration, because it’s crucial in volleyball."
