Couva, Trinidad, July 14, 2017 – France coach Felix Andre was not a happy man despite his team’s 3-0 win over Cameroon in Group 3 of the FIVB World Grand Prix on Friday.

Felix Andre, coach of France: We did not play a good game. Even if we did not feel good before the match or during the match, we still needed to fight and play for the win because Cameroon played well. Also, I did not like the lack of atmosphere.”

Juliette Fidon, captain of France: I don’t know how to explain our slow start to each set. Maybe it was the lack of atmosphere in the venue. We allowed them a strong start in each set, but we managed to keep the scores as close as possible and allowed them to make the mistakes at the key points as well.

Neba Anomah, assistant coach of Cameroon: A lack of maturity on the part of our players played a major role in our defeat. Even though the France team may have younger players than us, they all have the experience of competing  at a higher level in their professional league and we did not manage our set chances as well as they did.

Christelle Tchoudjang Nana, captain of Cameroon: We just did not concentrate at key points of the sets. France were much more disciplined than we were as a team at the crucial times and we made too many errors compared to our opponents.
