Aleoscar Blanco Iriarte had two aces in their straight-set win over Mexico in the 2017 FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix
Caracas, Venezuela, July 15, 2017 – Aleoscar Blanco Iriarte led Venezuela in scoring with 17 points to claim their fourth straight win in the 2017 FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix with a 3-0 (25-22, 25-22, 25-23) scoreline against Mexico at Domo Jose Maria Vargas on Saturday.
Blanco’s 17 points included 12 attacks, three blocks and two aces. Her team-mate Maria Jose Perez Gonzalez added 16 to help the team secure the Group 3 Final Four spot in Canberra, Australia. Mexican opposite Dulce Carranza charted 14 points.
Venezuela and Mexico met for the first time in World Grand Prix history. Venezuela have a four-match winning streak in the World Grand Prix, after losing to France in their debut. The South American team four victories were completed in straight sets.
