Dékány helps Hungary dominate Algeria

 

Caracas, Venezuela, Jul 15, 2017 – Bernadett Dékány scored 11 points as Hungary brushed past Venezuela in a straight sets on Saturday.

Gréta Szakmáry and Eszter Nagy added 9 points each for the winners, with Yasmine Abderrahim finishing the night with 6 points for Algeria.


The first two sets saw Hungary dominate from start to finish. They put pressure on their opponents thanks to accurate and powerful serves and effortlessly stopped their attacks with good blocks. Algeria were unable to get to double digits in either set conceding them 25-7 and 25-9.

The third set saw a bit more of a fight, with the Africans leading at one point (5-4). However, by the first technical time-out, Hungary were already up by two points and it was a lead they held on to for the rest of the match. They wrapped things up with a 25-16 win in the third set.
