France go for fourth win against Cameroon

 

Lausanne, Switzerland, July 13, 2017 - Cameroon and France, both of whom are making their FIVB World Grand Prix debut this season, clash for the second time Friday in Port of Spain, after France won their first match last week 3-1 in Yaounde. France together with Hungary are the only undefeated teams of Group 3 after the opening weekend. Cameroon scored one win last week, downing Algeria in the African derby.

Head-to-Head
• Last week, these teams met for the first time in the World Grand Prix. France won 3-1.
• Christelle Tchoudjang Nana (18), Berthrade Simone Flore Bikatal (11) and Abdoulkarim Fawziva (10) all reached double figures in scoring for Cameroon in that match.
• For France, only Juliette Fidon (15) scored more than 10 points.
• Both teams are participating in their first World Grand Prix.

Cameroon
• Cameroon won their debut match in the World Grand Prix, a 3-0 win against Algeria, before losing two matches in a row.
• Cameroon are the third African country to participate in the World Grand Prix. Both Kenya (9) and Algeria (2) have already claimed multiple victories.
• Kenya managed to claim two wins in their first four matches in the competition.

France
• On their debut, France have won their first three matches.
• France can become the first country to win the first four matches in their first World Grand Prix participation. Hungary can also achieve this feat.
• France have won 283 points in their three matches combined, most of all teams in Group 3 in the first weekend.
