Lausanne, Switzerland, July 15, 2017 - Trinidad & Tobago host France Saturday in Port of Spain for the first time in an official competition, as both teams make their FIVB World Grand Prix debut this season. France remain undefeated in the competition after four matches while Trinidad & Tobago registered their first win Friday over Australia.
Head-to-Head• This is the first meeting between these nations in a major competition (Olympic Games, World Championships, World Grand Prix, World Cup and Grand Champions Cup).
• Trinidad & Tobago have played one match in a major competition against a CEV team, losing 3-0 against Hungary last week.
• France have played six matches against NORCECA teams in major competitions, all at the 1974 World Championships. France lost the first two matches (vs Mexico and USA), but won the last four (Bahamas, Puerto Rico, Bahamas (again) and Dominican Republic).
Trinidad & Tobago• Trinidad & Tobago lost the opening three matches of their debut World Grand Prix campaign, before recording their first victory 3-1 against Australia.
• Trinidad & Tobago have won only one other World Grand Prix set, the opener in the 3-1 defeat versus Mexico.
