Lausanne, Switzerland, July 16, 2017 - Trinidad & Tobago host Cameroon Sunday in Port of Spain in the very first time the Caribbean side come up against an African team. The hosts are 1-4 in the current FIVB World Grand Prix, but Cameroon registered their second win in this their debut season when they beat Australia in four sets.
Head-to-Head• Trinidad & Tobago will meet an African side for the first time at a world level tournament.
• Cameroon will face a NORCECA team for the first time since the 2014 world championships, when they lost 3-1 to Canada.
Trinidad & Tobago• Trinidad & Tobago have won one and lost four matches in the World Grand Prix.
• Three of their four defeats came in straight sets, including their 3-0 loss against France on Saturday.
• Trinidad & Tobago have not yet suffered consecutive defeats in straight sets in the World Grand Prix.
• Sinead Jack was Trinidad & Tobago’s top scorer against France with 13 points. With 51 total points, Jack came within four of the side’s tournament top scorer Krystle Esdelle (55).
Cameroon• On Saturday, Cameroon broke a three-match losing streak by beating Australia 3-1. Their 2017 World Grand Prix record is now two wins and three defeats.
• Cameroon have not yet won back-to-back matches at the World Grand Prix.
• Christelle Tchoudjang Nana led her team in scoring with 19 points against Australia, while Laetitia Crescence Moma Bassoko added no less than five serve winners.
