Venezuela to play in 2017 World Grand Prix Group 3

 

Venezuela joins seven other countries in FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix Group 3

Lausanne, Switzerland, December 14, 2016 – Venezuela have joined the teams set to participate in 2017 FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix Group 3 after Azerbaijan withdrew their participation in the tournament. They will take on fellow South Americans Colombia, Algeria and Cameroon in Pool B3 from July 7 to 9, before playing Hungary, Algeria and Mexico in Pool C3 from July 14 to 16.



The 25th edition of the World Grand Prix will feature a record 32 teams, with 12 teams participating in Groups 1 and 2 and 8 in Group 3. The competition will run from July 7 to August 6 with the Group 1 Finals to take place from August 2-6. Venezuela join seven other teams in Group 3 including Algeria, Australia, Cameroon, Colombia, Hungary, Mexico and Trinidad and Tobago.

Only China and Japan have participated in all 24 editions to date. Brazil are the record title winners with a total of 11 victories to their name.
