We won but we have to do better, says Cameroon coach Rene Akono

Cameroon coach asked his team to do more in the coming matches

Yaounde, Cameroon, July 7, 2017- Although Cameroon coach Rene Akono was happy to have claim victory over Algeria in their first Grand Prix match, but he asked his players to play better in the upcoming matches.

Cameroon coach Rene Akono: We won but if we want good results, we have to do better than this. We have to ameliorate everything, we played against a young team yet we lacked rhythm.

Cameroon player Fotso Mogoung Stephanie: We entered the competition with a win and we hope to continue like this till the end. We motivate each other and tell ourselves we have to do our best because we are playing in front of our public. It was not easy; Algeria was tired due their late arrival. There are sets where we were held by the score but we were confident.

Algeria coach Tennoun Nabil: Cameroon is not a team to joke with; they are the best in Africa. However, we arrived early this morning with all the fatigue and barely had time to rest. We trained at mid-day, and at 4:00pm we had to come to the game. We played against tiredness and a good opponent which maintained its consistency and stability. We also came with a young team, a new generation in their first international tournament. But sincerely, the Cameroon team was above board.
