Argentine
Seniors' Women Team

After many seasons winning international experience, the Argentine
National Team has become a stable group at the World Grand Prix, premier annual
competition that it arrived to stay, participating this year for seventh consecutive
time. Added to this important fact, for fourth consecutive year Argentina will
organize one of the weekends, something that not only supports the respect
obtained by “Las Panteras” (nickname of the Argentine Seniors' Women National
Team) but also proves the prestige of Argentina as organizer of international
events, with Neuquen chosen as venue for this year's competition in the
country. During 2016 the team participated for the first time in the Olympic
Games held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, defeating Cameroon on its first Olympic
victory. In 2017 and with some changes in the squad, Argentina will look for
the qualification to the World Cup 2018.

Coach

Orduna, Guillermo

Orduna, Guillermo

 ORDUNA
GUILLERMO

This
will be his fifth consecutive season as head coach of the Argentine Seniors'
Women Team and he has renewed challenges for this period. In 2006 Orduna
finished his first cycle with the Argentine Youth's Girls Team that included an
important FIVB World Championship participation in Macao 2005.  At the beginning of his cycle with the
Seniors’ Team he obtained the qualification to the World Championship in Italy
2014 after an absence of 12 years and to the World Grand Prix. Since then and
from the hand of Orduna, Argentina has played the premier annual competition
for Women’s NT uninterruptedly, also hosting weekends at home from 2014 to the
present.

The
good results continued in the following years for the coach: in 2015 “Las
Panteras” qualified for the World Cup and achieved it best historical
performance with four wins. Then the team got the bronze medal in the Pan
American Cup and won the berth for the Olympic Games in Rio for the first time
on its history. Finally, in 2016 Orduna and his girls ended as the best South
American team at the Pan-American Cup and completed their historical first
participation on the Olympic Games in Rio with an important victory over
Cameroon.

After
the Olympic Games in Rio experience, the Argentine Volleyball Federation bet
again on him for a new cycle and that is how he continues to lead the team in
the goal, now, to qualify for the 2018 World Cup.
