Bozana Butigan celebrates the win over Argentina

Neuquen, Argentina, July, 8, 2017 - Croatia beat Argentina 3-2 (20-25, 30-28, 15-25, 25-22, 16-14) for their first victory over Argentina in the FIVB World Grand Prix, courtesy of an awesome comeback and the hands of Bozana Butigan.

Bozana Butigan, Croatia top-scorer: "I'm very happy because we played very well and we were together like a team from the beginning to the end. I was very excited about the people watching the game, but now we have to calm down and focus on tomorrow's game."

Miroslav Aksentijevic, Croatia coach: "I would like to says thanks to this perfect spectators, we enjoyed a lot playing here today, especially after yesterday, but I know it was also difficult for Argentina. Both teams played under big pressure and it was really hard. At some moments we played in high level but then we make beginners mistakes. We served very well and played good at the net. We were strong in block and defense and I'm so happy because of these girls, for sure the youngest team in the tournament. I'm very satisfied."

Guillermo Orduna, Argentina coach: "Despite the result, there are always positive things. I think we needed to make many substitutions and all the players answered to the team. Also, we know we have young players making their first steps in the major team and they're doing it well but with the normal irregularities of their ages. There are some players that are not on their best level, they're recovering, so that means that we can still improve a lot during the competition. The most important thing is to progress and to have the complete team to the rest of the season.
We know the victories will come and will give us confidence. We have to try to play better each time and tomorrow we have another chance of doing it."

Lucia Fresco, Argentina: "I think we failed in the definition today. In the big moments we make silly mistakes and we lost important points because we're not as concentrated as we should. We have to work on that. The most important thing for tomorrow's match is to make up our minds. We know we have the support of all these people and we're really sad that we couldn't get the victory for them. We hope tomorrow we can give everything we have."
