Almaty, Kazakhstan, July 15, 2017 – Germany registered their fourth win in Group 2 of the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix with Saturday’s 3-0 (26-24, 25-15, 25-6) match against Croatia at the Baluan Sholak Sports Palace.
Germany coach, Felix Koslowski - "We started good in the first set but also lost a bit of attention, so Croatia were able to get good serves and attacks. But to be honest, I was confident of the team. I think we played even better than yesterday. Today, our blocks and transition attacks mattered, and our defence had better quality. We could speed up the attack after transitions, so we scored better. The attack was really good today but it came from very good control in the court."
Germany libero, Lenka Durr - "Everything worked so well. The connection among all players is important. We had good block and defence and this has always been our strength to rely on. In difficult moments, we can come back in the game. I am very proud of this team. We are really young, with a lot of new players this summer. We are defining our rhythm. It is a good group, with good harmony."
Croatia coach, Miroslav Aksentijević - "Our young players were perfect in some moments, and can play good volleyball. We knew it from the beginning that in this level of competition, the young players will face challenges. But we will try to recover, we will try to forget this, and prepare well. It will be very tough match tomorrow against the home team. We will try to perform and show a better level of volleyball."
Croatia captain, Samanta Fabris - "In the first set, I think we played good volleyball, but after, we fell down with a lot of mistakes. We are disappointed, but congratulations are in order for Germany."
