Kim Yeon Koung smashed Argentina’s dream of first victory

 

Ostrowiec Swietokrzyski, Poland, July 14, 2017 – South Korea, lead by their captain Kim Yeon Koung, gained three points in straight sets against Argentina on the first day of competition in Poland 3-0 (27-25, 25-22, 25-8).

Kim Yeon Koung was the best scorer of her team alongside Jeongah Park. Both players scored 16 points, Kim 13 in attack, 2 blocks and an ace, while Park 14 spikes and point in block and serve. On Argentina's side Tanya Acosta scored 10 points (7 spikes, one block and two aces). 
Argentina opened the tournament with a successful attack, but after a tight score during the whole set Korea luckily won 27-25 thanks to error in spike of Priscila Bosio. The Albicelestes put all of their efforts from the beginning of second part, but lost the five-point lead at 21-21. Captain Kim Yeon Koung took the responsibility in scoring and finished the set at 25-22. The third set was a one-team show of Korea, who were unstoppable and decisively defeated coach Guillermo Orduna’s team 25-8.
