Lausanne, Switzerland, July 22, 2017 - Korea host Poland Sunday in Suwon in a rematch of last week's win of the Asian side in four sets. The two teams come head-to-head for the seventh time in FIVB World Grand Prix history with their series tied at 3-3.
Head-to-Head• Korea and Poland have met six times at the World Grand Prix with both teams winning three apiece.
• These teams most recently met last weekend when Korea won 3-1.
• All three of Poland's victories came in straight sets. Korea won one in three sets, one in four and one in five sets.
• Their last encounter in a major tournament besides the World Grand Prix was in the second round of the 2010 World Championship. Poland prevailed after five sets.
Korea• Korea have won seven and lost only one match in the 2017 World Grand Prix.
• Seven wins in 2017 is a joint-record for Korea in a single World Grand Prix season, equalling their seven victories in 1994.
• Korea have won their last six World Grand Prix matches, their longest winning streak ever in the competition.
• Kim Yeon Koung (18 points) led her team in scoring on Saturday against Colombia. Seventeen of those points were spikes, the other a kill block.
Poland• With their 3-0 win over Kazakhstan on Saturday, Poland improved to a 2017 World Grand Prix balance of seven wins and one defeat.
• Six of Poland’s seven wins this season have come in straight sets. This includes 3-0 wins over Kazakhstan and Colombia this weekend.
• For the second time this season, Poland could win three matches in a weekend without dropping a set. They also did this in week one with 3-0 victories against Croatia, Canada and Argentina.
• Malwina Smarzek and Roksana Brzoska led Poland in scoring against Kazakhstan with 12 points each. Zuzanna Efimienko again showed her power defence at the net, recording four kill blocks.
