Germans celebrate after the last point in the final tie-break.
Ruse, Bulgaria, Jul 9, 2017. Germany's coach Felix Koslowski and captain Denise Hanke were extremely happy after an exciting tiebreak win over Bulgaria on Sunday.
Denise Hanke, captain of Germany
- I think it was a super hard fight. Really exciting game, between equal teams. Both teams were fighting super good with great defense and blocking. In the end the little things made the difference.
Felix Koslowski, coach of Germany – It was a very close match as you can see in the result. With a lot of ups and downs during the match. We lost our rhythm in the beginning of the tie-break but we worked hard to bring back our confidence. I can say that we served really well today and we played really well in defense. Bulgaria is a great team with great individual players, so for us it was a very big win today and I hope this will give us great confidence for the next matches.
Dobriana Rabadzhieva, player of Bulgaria – Volleyball is a game. Every day, every match is different. In the end we made some individual errors. During the whole match they pushed with serve. We couldn’t manage to organize well our attack but we were fighting for every ball during all sets and I want to congratulate my teammates on this. And again I want to say big 'Thank you' to the fans in Ruse for their belief in us. From the first to the last point they support us. Thank you Ruse and hope to see you again next year.
Miroslava Paskova, player of Bulgaria - Maybe we didn’t have a little bit of luck in the tie-break. Germany is not too strong team which we can’t defeat. Now we will play in Puerto Rico against three new teams – Canada, the hosts and Czech Republic. I want to come back from this trip with three wins and to qualify for the finals!
