Ocasio helps Puerto Rico snap Czech Republic’s win streak

 

Puerto Rico defeated Czech Republic in straight sets to win two in a row in the 2017 FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix

San Juan, Puerto Rico, July 15, 2017 – Karina Ocasio top scored for Puerto Rico in their 3-0 (25-20, 25-21, 25-17) win at Roberto Clemente Coliseum on Saturday, to claim their second straight win and snap the four-match winning streak of the Czech Republic in the 2017 FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix.

Ocasio led all scorers with 16 points, including 13 attacks, one block and two aces. Daly Santana, Alba Hernandez, Stephanie Enright had a productive and scored night and scored 12, 11 and 10 points, respectively. Michaela Mlejnkova top scored for the Czech Republic with 12 markers.

Puerto Rico have avenged their 3-1 loss to Czech Republic last week in Chiclayo, Peru. Both squads have won three matches each in their six World Grand Prix meetings.
