Poland need to keep focus - Nawrocki

Poland celebrate their straight-set win over Croatia

Neuquen, Argentina, July 7, 2017 – Neuquen, Argentina, July, 2017 – After Poland made a quick win over Croatia, coach Jack Nawrocki admitted that his team needs to keep its focus to maintain their level in their next matches in the 2017 FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix.

“We had a lot of respect today against Croatia because it was our first game at the World Grand Prix. I’m happy because our team played concentrated all the time and that’s important. We also have to give that same respect to Canada because we have played two times against them and the next game will be difficult too. They are a team that plays with joy and have very good level in attack. We have to prepare for the game and be ready to fight.”

Poland captain Joanna Wolosz: “I’m happy because we started good in this tournament. We focused on our game and in the things that we had to do. Today we demonstrated that if we’re concentrated, we can play at a high level. We played very well in service, block and attack. I’m happy and I hope we can continue this way.”

Croatia coach Miroslav Aksentijevic:
“Poland are a very strong team. We came here with a very young team to gain experience. We have to learn how to play these kinds of competitions. We have to forget what we did today and try to recover and play in better shape tomorrow. We felt the pressure on the court, my players have to get adapted to play better tomorrow.”

Croatia captain Lucija Milnar:
“We are a very young team and this is a completely new experience for us. At the same time, it is a good challenge for all of us. I hope game by game we can improve and give our best. It is very nice to play in Argentina. We are very proud to be here.”
