Pommer: I'm proud of my team

Chiclayo, Peru, July 09, 2017 - In a vibrant duel, the Czech Republic beat host Peru 3-1 (24-26, 25-21, 22-25, 23-25), overcoming Angela Leyva's 24 points and pleasing their coach.

Zdenek Pommer, Czech Republic coach: “Peru was a great rival today, had an impressive recovery in the last sets and was able to push us very well, but I am proud that my team knew how to control our nerves and demonstrate our game. Our shipbuilder and attackers did a great job today, they understood each other when necessary. I am proud of my team's performance not only in this match but also throughout the tournament."

Karolina Bednárová, captain of the Czech Republic: “It was a great match for both teams, Peru is a rival with great strengths. It was a pleasure for us to play here, in a site with a spectacular audience, it was a very special moment. For us it was a great experience to play in Peru."

Luizomar De Moura, Coach of Peru: "The performance of my team at the World Grand Prix was positive, especially as it was a tournament with a high technical level, we had good duels against Colombia and Puerto Rico. Some details were decisive in today's result. Keep working is a team with enough progress and that motivates us to continue."

Mirtha Uribe, captain of Peru: "We did a good game, we were lacking more concentration to close it but it was a very difficult opponent with a very high block. We will face them again, and we are sure that we will recover the revenge because we will comply with our goal of reaching the Final Four."
