Smarzek, Tomsia team up to help Poland claim sweep

 

Poland swept all their matches in Pool B2 of the 2017 FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix in straight sets

Neuquen, Argentina, July 9, 2017 – Poland completed their sweep of Pool B2 with a 3-0 (25-21, 25-19, 25-14) win over hosts Argentina in the 2017 FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix at Ruca Che on Sunday.

Malwina Smarzek and Berenika Tomsia led all scorers with 15 and 14 points, respectively, to lead Poland to its third straight win on the first week of competition. Sol Piccolo top scored for Argentina with nine markers.

Poland have recorded their first ever three consecutive straight-set victories. This is the second time that they have won their first three matches in the World Grand Prix since 2014, when they recorded their first four.
