"We knew exactly what to expect" says Korea's captain

Ostrowiec Swietokrzyski, Poland, July 14, 2017 - Korea won their World Grand Prix Pool 2E match against Argentina in an impressive style 3-0 (27-25, 25-22, 25-8). Head coach Hong Sungjin was proud of his team which fought for every ball and improved their game during the match.

Korea coach, Hong Sungjin - "It’s already more than two weeks since we left Korea and arrived to Europe, which is difficult for our team. We are happy about today’s victory, but in the second set we had some problems. However, we knew that we can’t just give up, we talked to each other, improved our game and won this set even if Argentina was leading with few points. We attacked balls even harder and improved our reception, thanks to it we won the second set and whole match."

Korea captain, Kim Yeon Koung - "We knew exactly what to expect, because we already played against Argentina before. We arrived to Poland earlier, so we could prepare well to this match. We know what we have to improve in our game, we learned a lot after matches in Varna, we have to focus on our reception and don’t make mistakes."

Argentina coach, Guillermo Orduna - "We played two sets receiving well, serving well and being really concentrated, but this type of things sometimes happen. When you lose a lot of points on one rotation and then the set sometimes it's hard to make a comeback. We have to work on this type of situation and because of that I really appreciate playing with teams like Korea.

Argentina captain, Emilce Sosa - "I can't believe what happened on the court. Korea caught us in our one weaker rotation and we lost two sets. We have to gain experience from this and play better tomorrow cause against Poland it will be even harder for us. In Montreaux we played really good volleyball and we have to gain that back."
