Aguascalientes press conference presents World Grand Prix

 

Aguascalientes will welcome FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix Pool A3 from July 7 to 9.

Aguascalientes, Mexico, June 21, 2017- The Mexican Volleyball Federation presented the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix Group 3 Pool A3 tournament which will take place in the city of Aguascalientes from July 7 to 9 to local media on Thursday.

Hosts Mexico will take on Australia, Hungary and Trinidad and Tobago in Pool A3 in Aguascalientes at the Poliforum Cultural y Deportivo Universitario Morelos on the opening weekend of the annual FIVB tournament.

The competition hall, best known as the GalloDom, has a capacity of 3500 spectators who will witness Mexico’s fourth appearance in the World Grand Prix. Mexico finished sixth in 2014, seventh in 2015 and sixth again last year.

Local sports authorities were in charge of presenting the event, alongside Jesus Perales Navarro, President of the Mexican Volleyball Federation, who was pleased to announce that Aguascalientes is set to welcome the World Grand Prix in its 25th edition.

“The media is the key of making this event a success; I wish to invite you to enjoy the best volleyball in the world and support our national team,” said Perales Navarro, who also thanked the local Sports Institute, Aguascalientes Volleyball Association and the University of Aguascalientes for their remarkable efforts in the organisation or the tournament.

It will be the first time Aguascalientes welcomes an international volleyball event and the World Grand Prix has been promoted at schools, sports clubs and with junior volleyball teams.

Perales Navarro added: “We hope to inspire young players as we are ready to perform at our best in front of our fans.”
