Hungary look to stay undefeated against Mexico

 

Lausanne, Switzerland, July 13, 2017 - Mexico and Hungary meet for the second time in FIVB World Grand Prix history Friday in Caracas, after Hungary won their first ever encounter last week in straight sets. Hungary and France, who are making their World Grand Prix debuts this year, are the only two undefeated teams of Group 3 so far. Mexico's loss at home to Hungary was their only defeat this season.

Head-to-Head
• Mexico and Hungary will meet for the second time at the World Grand Prix after their meeting a week ago on 9 July.
• Hungary won in straight sets with Greta Szakmary leading the score for her team with 14 points. Lizbeth Sainz (10) scored most points for Mexico.
• Mexico are hoping to record their first World Grand Prix win against European opposition.

Mexico
• Mexico opened their 2017 World Grand Prix campaign with two wins before losing to Hungary.
• Mexico could win three matches in single World Grand Prix campaign for the first time.
• Mexico have not won the opening set in their last eight matches in the competition, but they managed to win three of those.

Hungary
• Hungary have won their first three World Grand Prix matches on their debut.
• Hungary can become the first country to win the first four matches in their first World Grand Prix participation. France can also achieve this feat.
• Hungary have lost only one set so far in the World Grand Prix, in the 3-1 win against Australia.
