Ruse, Bulgaria, July 8, 2017 – The Bulgarian players all credited the incredible fans in Ruse, who cheered the home team to a FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix 2017 3-2 victory over Korea.

Nasya Dimitrova, player of Bulgaria: “We played for the audience. The spectators were our eighth player on the court! We will try to do our best tomorrow and finish this tournament in the best way – with another victory in our pockets!”

Petya Barakova, player of Bulgaria: “We played like a team today and we showed that we are capable of winning against this strong opponent. The fans were absolutely incredible today and they helped us a lot to achieve this good result. The match tomorrow will not be easy, but I hope to win again for our fans.”

Dobriana Rabadzhieva, player of Bulgaria: “I want to congratulate all the girls on our team. We did not give up and we deserved the victory. In the tie-breaker they pressured us with their serves, but after that we showed great work in defence and we won. The fans in Ruse are absolutely among the best and they help us a lot! I expect a tough match against Germany, but I hope to win.”

Yeon Koung Kim, captain of Korea: “Today Bulgaria played really well. They had good blocking and good defence. Some of our players are really young and in the tie-breaker they were a little bit nervous. So we did not do the right things and we lost. I hope tomorrow we will play better than today, with fewer mistakes, and I will be happy if we win.”
