Reigning champions Brazil defeated Serbia in the first match on Friday
Lausanne, Switzerland, July 14, 2017 - Friday's action in the 2017 edition of the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix began in spectacular fashion with a 3-0 (26-24, 25-17, 25-22) victory for title-holders Brazil against Serbia in Sendai, Japan. The two teams had also met last week in Turkey with Serbia prevailing in that encounter.
