Kunshan, China, July 09, 2017 - A brilliant Paola Ogechi Egonu scored 39 points for Italy as they produced a stirring comeback in their FIVB World Grand Prix 2017 Group 1 clash on Sunday, beating Russia 3-2 (25-21, 27-29, 24-26, 26-24, 15-10) in Kunshan, China.
The 18-year-old Egonu scored 31 points from spikes, five from service and three on the block as Italy claimed their first win of the 2017 tournament. Irina Vironkova scored 25 points for Russia, who have now lost their opening three games of the FIVB World Grand Prix for the first time.
