Giovanni Guidetti: We wanted to leave Bangkok with victory

Press conference Turkey and Dominican

Bangkok, Thailand, July 23, 2017 - After losing two previous matches, Giovanni Guidetti and Turkey were keen to defeat Dominican Republic and leave Bangkok with at least one victory.

Turkey coach, Giovanni Guidetti - "First of all I would like to thank the Thailand Volleyball Association, Thai fans and everybody. It is great to play here in Bangkok. Thailand has amazing volleyball fans. The atmosphere in the stadium is fantastic. We are very happy to play here. Congratulations to Thailand for a great organisation. I think today we played pretty well and had more discipline. We did what we wanted to do. Our service reception was pretty good which made our setter play easier. Of course we are not successful in this tournament. We had some good matches like today and in China. We had two great victories against Dominican and Belgium. It is a great success for me and our players."

"Yesterday we were very disappointed the way we played. We expected a tough match against Thailand, but you know Thailand are a great volleyball team. There was something unexpected from them. They always can perform amazing volleyball. The way we played yesterday was not really good and we did not fight. But today we would like to finish the tournament as the winners. We wanted to fight and give our best.

Turkey captain, Fatma Yildirim - “The tournament is very difficult for us but we wanted to finish it the best way possible. We are very happy that we won today. Today we played really good. I am so proud of my team".

Dominican Republic setter, Niverka Dharlenis Marter Frica - "I am very disappointed with our performance today. Some of our players have injuries so I am not so happy to play the game today".

Dominican Republic coach, Marcos Kwiek - "I am not happy about the game today, our reception and serving were not that good. We have to put more effort in order to beat them. Congratulations to Turkey for their victory".
