Celeste Plak and Anne Buijs were key players for the victory over Belgium
Cuiabá, Brazil, July 23, 2017- In the last match of the in week 3 in Group 1, the Netherlands needed five sets to defeat Belgium 3-2 (29-27, 18-25, 25-12, 22-25, 15-8). The victory took the Dutch squad to the FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix Finals in Nanjing.
After the victories of Brazil and Japan, the Netherlands came to the court under pressure. The only way to qualify for Nanjing, China, was to defeat Belgium. And that is exactly what the Dutch set about doing, led by top scorers Anne Buijs (23 points) and Yvon Belien (14 points).
