Rasic: I feel honoured

Hong Kong, China, July 23, 2017 - Serbia upset the hosts with a 3-1 (25-21, 25-20, 18-25, 25-15) win on Sunday.

China coach An Jiajie: There is an obvious gap over the net control between the Chinese and the Serbian team. We should have played better in service and reception. The Chinese team were not concentrated throughout the match and we also need to learn to observe the momentum of the game. We hope to improve in the above elements in the finals.

China captain Zhu Ting: We did not perform well today, especially in  blocking and defense. We were too passive in the fourth set. I am not happy with our team’s performance today.

Serbia coach Zoran Terzic:
Congrats to my team on winning all 3 pools. Now we need to rest a bit and try to win the final. It is difficult to play with China but we always make a good game. We did make mistakes but I think we are good in attack and service and those are the reasons why we won. All in all, it was an incredibly beautiful game in front of so many spectators.

Serbia captain Milena Rasic:
It was a hard game. It is always hard to play with China, especially in front of their home crowd. It is a little hard to believe that even though we lost the third set, we managed to make a come-back and win the game.

It is my first time winning the MVP award. I did not expect it at all and feel very honoured. I thank the ones who voted for me.
