We are very satisfied with our victory today - Terzic

Turkey's coach Guidetti watching his team lose to Serbia

Ankara, Turkey, July 7, 2017 – The easy victory over hosts Turkey in an FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix match in Ankara surprised even Serbia’s coach Zoran Terzic. His counterpart Giovanni Guidetti apologized for his team’s poor performance.

Zoran Terzic, coach of Serbia: "We are very satisfied with the victory today. Honestly, I was not expecting it to be so easy. We won by 3-0 in Ankara, at their home. I know the Turkish team very well. They play much better in front of Turkish spectators. But we played very well today."

Milena Rasic, captain of Serbia: "We know it would be difficult to play in this crowded gym. At the beginning we were a bit nervous, but after that we came back."

Giovanni Guidetti, coach of Turkey: "I apologize to the Turkish volleyball fans for this terrible volleyball performance! I apologize for the poor level of the team today!"

Fatma Yildirim, captain of Turkey: "To be honest we could not give our best today. Serbia are a very strong team. They played very dominantly today. We still have nine more matches ahead of us. We want to be better prepared for these next games and win."
