Brazil coach José Roberto Guimarães: We are pleased to win, but we have some improvements to make, especially at the reception and defense. Tomorrow we will face an even harder adversary and we need to be ready for this battle.

Brazil player Tandara Caixeta: I believe that the most important thing about our victory today was the three points. We want to qualify for the Finals in China and this result against Belgium was the first step to achievieng our goal. The fans were also amazing today and helped our team the entire game. Tomorrow we will have a decisive game against the Netherlands and our fans will be one more time really important.

Belgium coach Gert Vande Broek: The Brazilian block made the difference, they scored 15 points and we just did two. I think we played well. We took some risks and the spectators witnessed a good match. It was an intense game.

Belgium captain Charlotte Leys: It is incredible to play here in Brazil, there are so many fans of volleyball here. The first set we showed that we could level up the game, but Brazil is more experienced than we are. In at the second and the third set they played better.
