Terzić: We have won the pool second weekend in a row

Serbia celebrates a win vs Thailand in Sendai

Sendai, Japan, July 16, 2017 - Serbai faced off against a spirited Thailand squad on Sunday in Sendai, who had stunned defending champs Brazil on Saturday. The strong European side showed up with no intentions of suffering the same fate, finishing off a difficult, young Thailand team 3–1 (25–17, 23–25, 25–16, 25–19).

Serbia coach, Zoran Terzić - "For the second weekend in row we’ve taken first place, and of course I’m very happy about this. This is definitely a big success for us. About today, it was we expected. Thailand plays different volleyball than us, but we played well tactically, and for the game - except maybe some time in the second set we did not play not so well - but for the rest of game we played on a good level that let us win 3–1.

Serbia captain, Milena Rasic - “The thing that makes me happy about weekend was that we played three games against three different teams, and we have 14 players who can play well in each game. We finished with a 3–1 win against Thailand, and three more points for us.”

Thailand coach, Danai Sriwacharamaytakul - “I want to thank the organisers for this competition, everything went really well. Serbia’s block and spike are really strong and it’s hard to get any points on them. We tried our best, but their block is so high and we couldn’t get points on them. Lastly, I want to thank our team members.”Thailand captain, Pleumjit Thinkaow - "Serbia is very tall, attack and serve were very strong. Serbia’s good serving really didn’t let us play our style of combination volleyball. We need to improve that. Her teammate Ajcharaporn Kongyot echoed these sentiments.Quick links - Volleyball:
