Ankara, Turkey, July 8, 2017 – Turkey earned its first victory of the season by defeating Belgium 3-1 (23-25, 25-20, 25-20, 25-16) in the FIVB World Grand Prix on Saturday.

Turkey head coach Giovanni Guidetti: "We were able to change attitude. Yesterday we didn't have an attitude, today we have a good attitude and good energy. I congratulate the Belgium team because they were able to change the game very quickly. We were able to win this match with a lot substitutions. All the players that I put inside, they we were able to add the team so I thank them for that. And of course I thank the people of Ankara for their great support."

Turkey captain Fatma Yildirim: "Today this match was a new game for us after we lost yesterday. We are a young team and we are learning every day. We wanted this match much more than the other team and we showed this. We are very thankful to our supporters in Ankara. We are waiting them to tomorrow's game."

Belgium captain Charlotte Leys: "Congratulations for Turkey today. It was incredible with all the fans here. Unfortunately we lost. First said to be, we had a good battle between the two teams. We won the first set but we couldn't fight back. They had a very strong service today. We didn't find any solution in spike so we have to figure out what we can do better."

Belgium head coach Gert Vande Broek: "I am disappointed for sure. They did well. I saw them playing yesterday, and today they played with a good spirit and mentality so they deserved this match. I thought after the first set maybe they would do the same as yesterday. I think in 24 hours they did a good job, creating a team spirit, which helped them after losing the first set. Congratulations to Turkish team."
